Job Description Job Description JOB FUNCTION: Under the
direction of the Logistics Manager and with safety, efficiency and
customer service a priority, the Logistics Coordinator is
accountable to facilitate the receiving, moving and shipping of
equipment, personnel and materials. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1 . Plan
and co-ordinate transportation of equipment and manage the timely
flow of customer orders 2 . Finding and ensuring equipment and
driver availability, using them to maximum efficiency by monitoring
load boards and communication with carriers 3 . Develop and
maintain carrier relationships 4 . Complete documentation such as
rate quotes, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders 5 .
Coordinate same day service with customer and service
representatives 6 . Aid over the road drivers with daily obstacles
and problem solving 7 . Resolve transportation problems with
urgency and professionalism 8 . Communicate with operations on
manpower during event season 9 . HOS management and tracking 10 .
Answer incoming calls and direct to appropriate party 11 . Reserve
hotels, cars and labor needs ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 .
Handle emergency responses to customer needs and ensuring all
personnel, equipment and supplies are dispatched quickly 2 .
Solving material, personnel or equipment shortage and surplus 3 .
Has the authority to make unsupervised decisions consistent with
the scope of responsibilities 4 . Other duties as assigned by Porta
Kleen Management QUALIFICATIONS: 1 . Bachelor’s degree in Supply
Chain Management, Logistics Management preferred 2 . Associates
degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Industrial
Engineering 3 . 1-2 years experience in transportation logistics or
dispatch 4 . Advanced knowledge in dispatching in a service
industry 5 . Professional oral and written interpersonal
communication 6 . Ability to prioritize 7 . High level
organizational skills
