Description Job Description:Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Software Developer, located in Dayton, OH directly supporting our R&D customer.-- The selected candidate will design, prototype, integrate, and demonstrate cutting-edge, next-generation platform software throughout various phases of design and development through characterization of customer requirements.What you will get to do on a daily basis:A hands-on software develoer to help research, design, coordinate, build and enhance highly available, scalable systems used by our customers for the advancement of next generation open system architecturesResponsible for the specification, design, development, implementation, unit testing, integration testing, writing documentation and analysis of technical products and systemsDrive customer and internal support for and execution around continuous R&D requirements for both internal and external customersTroubleshoot, characterize and correct software programming errors and correct existing program deficienciesCreatively troubleshoot and solve software problems, and analyze performance problemsSupport research, engineering, and development of innovative solutions to support operational missionsTo be successful in this job you will need these:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline or a Bachelor---s of Science in math/physics/engineering with multiple years of real world programming experience with at least 4-8 years of experienceMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a secret security clearanceExperience with software development life-cycle products from requirements, design, implementation, and testing phasesMust be able to perform C/C++ and Java programming--Familiarity with avionics equipment and/or avionics service bus communicationsAbility to do software/hardware integrationFamiliar with multi-threaded, and IP socket programming techniquesPerform software modeling and simulation of hardware components as part of a larger system.Ability to work independently or with supervisionFamiliar with Microsoft Visual Studio, Eclipse, or NetBean IDEsYou will wow us even more if you have these skills:Master---s degree in an engineering or technical discipline with 10+ years software engineering experienceSoftware development/engineering experience with open architectures such as Open Mission SystemsPossess strong priors operating within the constraints of TS/SCI or higher environmentsPractical Knowledge of UML design toolsMulti-level security development experienceRequirements analysisEmbedded Real Time Software experience or low-level hardware interfacing experience (such as using embedded hobby boards like the Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Launchpad, Beagle, etc.)LInCExternal Referral BonusDaytonExternal Referral Bonus:EligiblePotential for Telework:NoClearance Level Required:SecretTravel:Yes, 10% of the timeScheduled Weekly Hours:40Shift:DayRequisition Category:ProfessionalJob Family:Software DevelopmentLeidos is a Fortune 500-- information technology, engineering, and science solutions and services leader working to solve the world's toughest challenges in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets.
