Locum Physician Hospitalist (OB/GYN) Springfield, OH
Join a hospital-based OB/GYN team at a leading facility in
Springfield, OH covering Labor & Delivery with an in-house schedule
and dedicated support staff. This locum assignment starts
06/26/2026 with an opportunity to work
on-site 24-hour shifts, including 2 3
weekends per month ongoing. Pay rate:
$19.50/hour (plus competitive benefits and reimbursements
when applicable).

What You ll Do
- Provide OB/GYN coverage in Labor & Delivery,
with the majority of shifts focused on labor and delivery
support.
- Manage low-risk and high-risk pregnancy cases
(including common high-risk conditions such as diabetes and class
II+ cardiac disease).
- Perform and interpret fetal monitoring assessments including
NST/CST and FSE when
required.
- Provide OB ultrasound interpretation
(screening/viability and related interpretation as needed).
- Deliver routine and complicated birth care, including
vaginal deliveries, decision-making for C-sections, breech
and multiple births, and C-sections as indicated.
- Support postpartum and related care activities in the
L&D / Postpartum / Triage setting.
- Perform required gynecologic procedures as
credentialed, including selected operative cases (open and
laparoscopic diagnostic/minor; operative/major gynecology such as
ectopic pregnancy, ovary procedures, cystectomy, and extensive
LOAs).
What You Need
Required
- MD/DO and appropriate credentials for OB/GYN
coverage (specific license/certifications not listed in this
order)
- Experience with Labor & Delivery and the
listed OB/GYN procedures (years not specified)
Preferred
- Familiarity with managing a mix of low-risk (approx.
60%) and high-risk (approx. 40%) OB
cases
- Ability to work in a hospital-call / laborist-style model and
coordinate with L&D nursing and midwifery support staff
About the Assignment
You ll provide locum coverage for OB/GYN services at a
hospital-based unit in Springfield, OH, supporting Labor & Delivery
and postpartum triage workflows with in-house
coverage. Coverage includes Friday (7a) through
Monday (7a) 24-hour shifts, plus 2 3 weekends per
month ongoing (Friday Sunday call as scheduled).
EPIC is the documentation system, and the
environment includes L&D nurses and midwives (midwife presence
for the full shift is not guaranteed).
