Pay Information $2,150 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required; postpartum and nursery experience required License: Must have an active Ohio or compact license Certifications: ACLS (AHA), NRP, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - BSN degree preferred - If vaccinated for COVID, provide vaccination card - Skills checklist within the past year - Certifications must be through AHA and active at the time of start Description: Demonstrates ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on patients and reassessments as per policy. Demonstrates ability to assess and reassess pain using appropriate evaluation methods. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques and educates patients and families on pain management. Demonstrates ability to develop and revise the plan of care as indicated by patient response to treatment and evaluates the plan daily for effectiveness. Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients' ages. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition. Follows the five medication rights to reduce the potential for medication errors. Formulates and activates teaching plans based on identified learning needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of learning, including families in teaching as appropriate. Demonstrates ability to perform services requiring technical and manual skills. Demonstrates ability to perform services within the scope of licensure and seeks guidance on issues beyond knowledge and responsibility. Treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families. Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Interacts professionally with patients and families. Involves patients and families in the formulation of the treatment plan. Performs all aspects of patient care while establishing and maintaining a safe environment for patients and families to reduce healthcare errors. Consults other departments as appropriate to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient needs. Communicates appropriately and clearly with team members and physicians. Maintains good working relationships within the unit and with other departments. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families. Communicates with care coordination regarding in-hospital and post-discharge plans and needs. Documentation meets current standards and policies. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary. Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized, and function in stressful situations. Performs and maintains annual competencies.
