Job Description:

Established in 1951, CMH Regional Health System has been providing quality healthcare to area residents for over 70 years. CMH Regional Health System's Clinton Memorial Hospital is a 140-bed hospital located centrally in Wilmington, Ohio, only an hour drive from three of Ohio's major metros: Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus.
CMH offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient specialized services, including emergency services, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, medical and radiation oncology, orthopedics, obstetrics, urology, ENT, diagnostic and interventional radiology and more.
Under the direction of the Director and/or Charge Nurse, performs a variety of duties as a scrub nurse and circulating nurse. Utilizes the nursing process in the implementation of the medical plan of care for patients. Provides patient care in accordance with hospital and nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Education Experience/Qualifications: -

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and currently registered to practice in the State of Ohio.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of hospital staff nurse experience is preferred. BLS, ACLS, PALS are required. -
  • CNOR certification preferred. -
  • Must be able to take call for surgery.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -

    • Basic computer skills (Windows/keyboarding)
    • Prepares operating room to provide equipment and supplies based on patient needs.
    • Assesses physiological health status of patient and identifies needs.
    • Transport patients to operating room after assuring all required tests, documentation, etc. have been completed.
    • Provides education and emotional support to patients/family based on identified needs.
    • Organizes and directs patient care utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking. - Works with team members to establish goals, prioritize activities.
    • Opens instruments and supplies to the sterile as needed. -
    • Operates equipment, as applicable. -

      • Acquires additional supplies and equipment during operation as required.
      • -Monitors correct usage of equipment and supplies.

      • Performs a variety of treatments and procedures including: - sponge, sharps and instrument counts, administration of drugs and solutions, insertion of urinary catheters, etc. as needed.
      • Assesses, monitors, plans and evaluates the patient's condition on arrival and on an ongoing basis throughout the patient's stay in the operating room.
      • Documents all care provided utilizing the nursing process and in compliance with hospital policies/procedures for documentation.
      • Handles operative specimens appropriately.
      • Follows appropriate policies/procedures for operating equipment including flash sterilizer.
      • Reports unusual/emergent patient or personnel situation in a timely manner to direct supervisor and other members of the health care team as appropriate. - Completes follow-up action as directed. - Communicate changes in patient condition/procedure that may influence staffing requirements.
      • Maintains a safe and orderly environment utilizing principles of safety and infection control, including universal precautions.
      • Performs nursing actions that demonstrate accountability.
      • Must be available for on-call duties; must be able to arrive in department within 20 minutes of notification.

        • Supervises activities of non-professional personnel in department.

        • Maintains competency through:

          • licensure requirements,
          • division core competencies,
          • departmental core competencies,
          • attends other programs as appropriate for job responsibilities.

          • Participates in the department's quality assessment and improvement plan as directed by Department Director or designee.
          • The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related patient needs appropriate to the age of the patients served.
          • Demonstrates commitment to the Department's goals and to the organization's mission, vision, and values.
          • Performs job responsibilities in a manner consistent with CMH's Behavioral Expectations and Service Commitments.
          • Performs all other related duties as requested or required by Director, and/or Charge Nurse.

            Hours: Full Time
            Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
