Corporation research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and
improve cutting edge products and services. Sierra Nevada
Corporation is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with a
specialization in Instrumentation to join our dynamic test team. In
this role, you will lead the design, development, testing, and
integration of instrumentation systems for test and validation
efforts on a fleet of aircraft. You will be responsible for
ensuring the accuracy, reliability, safety, and performance of
instrumentation systems that are critical to the success of our
projects. Key Responsibilities: Leading the instrumentation effort
from design to de-modification through requirements development,
design, lab test, integration, and test operations support Plan,
participate, and execute test plan development to ensure objective
results are of sound quality Responsible for developing, modifying,
and implementing standard operating procedures for instrumentation
hardware and system design Collaborate with cross-functional teams,
including mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure
seamless integration of instrumentation systems. Maintain,
document, and control NIST standards for calibration and
verification of measurement equipment. Act as a technical liaison
to the Engineering Manager Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor's
of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related
discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience Advanced
knowledge of engineering principles and practices Thorough
understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools Experience
working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Understanding of electrical systems design and hardware integration
Qualifications We Prefer: Background in the Aerospace and Defense
Industry Experience with extensive ground and flight test programs
Experience with 14 CFR Part 25 testing Experience with Military
Systems testing Familiar with Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN
bus protocol Familiar with Curtiss Wright and/or similar data
acquisition systems Familiar with CATIA for electrical system
