This CNC Setup Machinist role exists to ensure machines are properly prepared, optimized, and validated before production begins — reducing scrap, improving cycle times, and protecting on-time delivery performance. In this AS9100D-certified, ITAR-registered environment, precision and process discipline are critical. This role plays a direct part in maintaining GMD’s 95% on-time delivery record and preferred supplier status. The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and prepare CNC mills and lathes for aerospace and defense components Load, edit, and optimize CNC programs at the machine Select tooling, set offsets, and validate workholding Perform first-article and in-process inspections Adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain tolerance and surface finish Troubleshoot machining issues to reduce scrap and downtime Support continuous improvement initiatives Work within AS9100 quality procedures and documentation systems Handle export-controlled technical data in compliance with ITAR/EAR This is a true setup-level role — not button pushing.
