Job Description:
Job Description Job Description EMH&T is currently seeking a
CAD Technician to join our Survey team located in Columbus, OH. As
the Survey Technician, you’ll gain hands-on experience in surveying
and foundational mapping skills while working under the guidance of
an experience surveyor; you’ll be responsible for processing field
survey data and producing accurate, high-quality survey drawings
and maps; you will utilize computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Civil
3D) software to create technical drawings for topographical and
boundary surveys; and you’ll work closely with field crews, project
managers, and engineers to ensure deliverables meet project and
client expectations. Responsibilities Carries out a variety of
drafting assignments using independent judgment and initiative.
Prepares layouts, drawings and designs according to engineering
specifications using CAD software. Retrieves information from
files, edits, produces hardcopies and updates drawings/designs.
Reviews engineering drawings and documentation, resolves undefined
details. Desired Skills A self-starter that demonstrates
dependability and consistent work efforts. Ability to work
independently and enjoy working in a team environment. High
attention to detail. Excellent verbal communication skills and the
ability to express ideas clearly. Receive and apply constructive
feedback. Experience and proficiency with general surveying
practices, boundary control and legal principles, preferred.
Qualifications Some technical education, specialized training or
work experience with one or more CAD platforms such as AutoCAD,
ARC/INFO. Knowledge of Survey Geomatics techniques, principles,
tools and various methods for graphically describing the location
and distribution of land, physical relationships, and
characteristics Experience as a surveying technician is preferred.
